Brassknocker to Midford – 30.6.24
Today we followed a lovely new route which started at Brassknocker Basin and meandered through the woods along Midford Brook. This walk is from Bathscape which is a great resource for exploring the countryside around Bath and beyond.

The walk follows a few local footpath routes including Circuit of Bath, Coal Canal Way and the Sustrans cycle network.

At the start of the walk we pass Monkton Combe School cricket pitch. It is one of the most beautiful grounds in England, regularly featuring in the Wisden Cricket calendar.

The wildflowers are amazing at the moment and we saw two different types of wild orchid – common spotted and pyramidal orchids
