Bradford-on-Avon Walking Wheel (spokes 8 and 1) – 25.1.24

Today, we ventured further into the Bradford-on-Avon Walking Wheel. While spokes 7 and 8 were revisited segments from our previous walks, our latest path took an new turn. We ascended partway up spoke 8, then veered anti-clockwise, returning via spoke 1. For those new to the Walking Wheel, it’s a picturesque network of footpaths. At its core is an inner ring encircling our lovely town of Bradford-on-Avon, and radiating from it are eight ‘spokes’ that stretch out to an outer ring, embracing the beautiful countryside of BoA and its surrounding areas.

The Bradford-on-Avon Walking Wheel is wonderfully easy to navigate, thanks to its excellent signage. For added convenience, laminated maps are available for purchase at the local library and several nearby shops.

Currently in the heart of winter, the landscape is still pretty bleak and bit muddy but the route offers a gentle, easy hike through fields and woods.

We’re excited to announce that we plan to lead this walk in March. Stay tuned for more details following another preparatory exploration in the coming weeks.
