Our regular New Year trek up to Browne’s Folly and through the woods at Bathford. We first did this walk in January 2017 and it has become the traditional first walk of the year for Bath Ramblers.

Two weeks ago when we pre-walked this route it was damp and foggy
Today it was very mild for January and the views were really clear. Here the sun is shining down on Freezing Hill Lane on the horizon.
Information about the nature reserve is available in several spots
The view of the folly as you climb the steep steps through the woods.
It’s always a happy walk when the goats are about. Today they were in a very friendly mood.
There’s not much growing at this time of year apart from a lot of impressive fungi.
Part of this route is along the outer circle of the BoA wheel.
