Our regular New Year trek up to Browne’s Folly and through the woods at Bathford. We first did this walk in January 2017 and it has become the traditional first walk of the year for Bath Ramblers. Two weeks ago when we pre-walked this route it was damp and foggyToday it was very mild for January and the views were really clear. Here the sun is shining down on Freezing Hill Lane on the horizon.Information about the nature reserve is available in several spotsThe view of the folly as you climb the steep steps through the woods. It’s always a happy walk when the goats are about. Today they were in a very friendly mood. There’s not much growing at this time of year apart from a lot of impressive fungi.Part of this route is along the outer circle of the BoA wheel.Remnants of Christmas outside the house in Sally in the WoodsA flock of sheep enjoy the mild weather
Hello
I am looking for a photo of the goats at Browne’s Folly for the cover of the Bathford Bulletin where we feature an article about the reserve. Could we use the one shown on your page? Happy to credit the photographer if you can give me details.
Thanks so much
Kath
Thank you for visiting Bath Ramblings. Here you will find information and photos from a variety of walks around the South West. Most of these walks are organized by the Bath Ramblers – find out more on the ‘about’ page.
The maps are meant as a rough guide, if you click on the ‘walkmeter’ buttons on each post you can get more information including a satellite map.
Don’t forget to click on the ‘read more’ button at the bottom of each post for more photos.
